Gartner is hiring a Senior Director Analyst to join our research team focused on data management. In this role, you will create in-depth analysis on data management technologies and platforms, communicate actionable insights to clients, and support sales initiatives. Your work will guide technology leaders, providing advice on data solutions and understanding adjacent areas like analytics, AI, and data science.
What You'll Do
- Create and deliver high-value client presentations based on proprietary research.
- Conduct research to produce innovative, thought-leading, and fact-based analysis.
- Identify critical questions facing clients and craft appropriate research methods to address them.
- Assist the sales organization in selling and retention on topics within your coverage area.
- Provide high-quality and timely peer review of research content.
- Lead or participate in research community meetings to discuss issues and collaborate with peers.
- Support Sales with Research Briefings, proof-of-concept engagements, and Consulting SAS engagements.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of experience within the field of data management.
- Significant applicable industry experience and deep knowledge of a specific market, role, or user strategies.
- Proven experience presenting to clients at events and conferences, performing workshops and briefings.
- Previously held a leadership role within a business or technology field in data management practice areas.
- Deep understanding of both technology and industry, including the market, vendors, products, and user strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced professional qualification(s) in a related field.
- Proven record of academic achievement at the highest level.
- Exceptional analytical skills; ability to apply conceptual models, recognize patterns, and defend research conclusions.
- Exceptional influencing and leadership skills.
- Articulate and succinct communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas effectively.
- Strong writing skills.
- A very strong team-working ethos.
- Strong project planning and management skills.
Nice to Have
- A Master's Degree in a related discipline is an advantage.
