Postman is looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to join our Developer Relations team. You’ll serve as a trusted technical voice for Postman by creating compelling content, building community, and championing developer needs back into the product. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you’ll be hands-on with APIs, AI agents, and emerging protocols like MCP, translating complex workflows into accessible, inspiring content.
What You'll Do
- Create technical content at scale: write tutorials, blog posts, videos, sample projects, and livestreams that demonstrate API best practices using Postman and adjacent tools.
- Represent Postman publicly: speak at conferences, meetups, podcasts, and webinars. Be a recognizable and credible technical voice in the API and developer tooling ecosystem.
- Build and nurture community: engage with developers across forums, Discord, GitHub, social media, and in-person events. Lead or support the global Agents & APIs Meetup program and similar community initiatives.
- Champion the developer experience: gather feedback from developers and translate it into actionable insights for Product and Engineering teams. Be the voice of the developer internally.
- Drive adoption of new capabilities: create launch content and enablement materials for features like Agent Mode, API Catalog, MCP integration, and AI-native API testing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: partner with Product Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Education teams to ensure consistent, technically credible messaging across all touchpoints.
- Grow Postman’s reach: develop strategies to grow engagement on YouTube, Substack, the Postman blog, and social channels through data-driven content optimization.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong API (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets) and coding (Python, Typescript) development skills.
- 3+ years in a developer advocacy, developer relations, or developer education role.
- Proven ability to stand up, run, and scale in-person meetups, including recruiting speakers, working with Partners and event management.
- A portfolio of published technical content (blog posts, conference talks, videos, open-source projects, or tutorials).
- Hands-on experience with Postman or similar API development platforms. Eagerness to get hands on with code, and work closely with engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of modern development workflows: CI/CD, testing, version control, and cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging.
- Comfort with being on camera, on stage, and in front of a microphone.
- Self-directed, able to prioritize across content, community, and product feedback workstreams with minimal oversight.
