Responsibilities
- Manages the SAP HANA environment, including CPU, memory, and storage utilization
- Conducts system maintenance, real-time monitoring, and applies required configurations and software updates
- Handles setup and data replication for SAP source systems
- Ensures regular backups of SAP HANA databases and reviews backup logs for integrity
- Administers and operates SQL Server systems within the broader technical landscape
- Offers technical support for Oracle databases not tied to SAP
- Leads key project milestones and aligns tasks across SAP Center of Excellence professionals and consultants
- Applies corporate technology standards and assesses business needs in data management and systems support
- Works with IT project leads to design and build SAP infrastructure components
- Acts as a technical resource for resolving moderate to complex system issues and joins emergency response sessions when needed
- Ensures SAP systems comply with regulatory and legal requirements
- Automates routine administrative tasks and trains operations teams on procedures
- Contributes to decisions on SAP infrastructure and architectural design in line with company guidelines
- Keeps current with SAP system architecture and component functionalities
- Diagnoses and resolves incidents impacting global system availability using troubleshooting methods
- Executes technical upgrades and implements functional or technical improvements
- Identifies and fixes application and system-level errors
- Manages change control processes in SAP environments according to established policies
- Deploys and maintains HANA databases in alignment with security policies set by the SAP COE team
- Assesses and applies software tools to improve data management efficiency
- Partners with BW/BI developers to optimize performance and data access in HANA
- Supports monitoring and management tools such as LAMA, HANA Cockpit, HANA Studio, and Solution Manager
- Takes part in on-call rotations to maintain continuous operation of critical systems
