The Boeing Company is hiring a Senior Database Administrator to join its SAP Center of Excellence. In this role, you will support the SAP HANA and SQL Server infrastructures and related ERP ecosystems, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Administer the SAP HANA landscape, including monitoring CPU, memory, and disk usage, performing system maintenance, and applying patches.
- Configure SAP source systems, manage replication, and ensure regular database backups with log monitoring.
- Perform administration and operation of SQL Server landscape components and provide support for non-SAP Oracle systems.
- Lead critical project deliverables, coordinating priorities and tasks among SAP COE Technical Professionals and consultants.
- Implement corporate technology standards and evaluate business needs regarding information management and systems.
- Collaborate with Technical IT Project leads on the design and building of the SAP ecosystem and infrastructure.
- Serve as technical support for medium to complex problem resolution and participate in crisis meetings as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within SAP system design and implementation.
- Automate administrative and operational functions and provide training and direction to operational teams.
- Provide input on system design and implementation decisions regarding SAP infrastructure in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain technical knowledge of SAP system components and architecture.
- Resolve incidents affecting global systems through troubleshooting and implementing known fixes.
- Perform technical upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshoot application and system errors.
- Maintain change processes within the SAP Landscape and SAP Infrastructure according to policy.
- Implement and maintain HANA databases in coordination with user-level security policy.
- Evaluate and utilize software products to assist in data management.
- Collaborate with BW/BI developers for performance optimization and data access requirements in the HANA environment.
- Support tools including LAMA, HANA Cockpit, HANA Studio, and Solution Manager.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 operations of critical systems.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience administering SAP HANA, MS SQL Server, and Oracle databases within complex, large-scale production environments.
- Experience deploying and managing SAP landscapes on Azure, including VM optimization, storage scaling, and cloud-native backup solutions.
- Experience in SAP HANA installation, patching, system refreshes/copies, and backup/recovery (HANA Cockpit/Studio).
- Experience in cross-platform database migration.
- Experience designing, configuring, and testing HA/DR solutions.
- Experience tuning and performing bottleneck analysis across HANA, SQL, and Oracle platforms to maximize system throughput.
- Ability to work under on-call support schedules when required.
Nice to Have
- SAP Certified Technology Associate (HANA).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect and/or Database Administrator Associate.
- Experience with SAP security policies.
- Experience administering databases within highly regulated environments, specifically ensuring compliance with ITAR and EAR standards.
- Experience aligning technical database management with rigid corporate governance and export-control data requirements.
- Experience leveraging automation tools (such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python) and SAP Landscape Management (LaMa) to streamline database operations and system copies.
