The role involves maintaining and enhancing database infrastructure, supporting development teams, and ensuring data reliability and security in a remote, project-driven setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems
- Design and execute database backup and recovery plans
- Support deployment of database changes in multiple environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly
- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and schemas
- Maintain documentation for database configurations and procedures
- Implement and manage user access controls
- Enforce database security policies and compliance standards
- Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments
- Upgrade and patch database management systems
- Diagnose and resolve replication and clustering problems
- Assist in data migration and integration initiatives
- Evaluate new database technologies and tools
- Produce performance reports and system health metrics
- Support disaster recovery testing and planning
- Configure automated monitoring and alerting systems
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Work with cross-functional teams on system integrations
- Maintain version control for database scripts
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline
- Certification in database administration
