Responsibilities
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server instances, including replication, backup and recovery processes, capacity forecasting, and services such as Reporting, Analysis, and Integration.
- Oversee the migration of databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016 with minimal disruption.
- Deliver comprehensive systems administration support, covering planning, deployment, testing, and configuration of new software and hardware components.
- Propose and apply performance tuning strategies for SQL environments to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Deploy and support Microsoft-based development tools and frameworks, including Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and Web Services.
- Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, including VM creation and configuration.
- Conduct regular backups of web, application, and database servers in alignment with organizational policies, including daily incremental and weekly full backups.
- Monitor database systems, manage storage allocation, and provide after-hours support when necessary.
