Humana is establishing dedicated teams to build AI solutions for targeted business opportunities in underwriting and claims. As a Senior Data Engineer / Scientist, you will be embedded in a delivery team and assigned to specific GenAI use cases, requiring deep engagement and a results-oriented mindset to implement effective solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop scalable data and analytics infrastructures to support the development and deployment of GenAI solutions.
- Develop and refine GenAI models, prompts, and associated analytical components.
- Translate business requirements into technically feasible, value-oriented solutions.
- Lead data integration activities and ensure robust operational deployment of GenAI pipelines.
- Ensure data quality, compliance, and risk control across all workflows—from data ingestion to model deployment.
- Identify capacity and competency requirements to support the overall AI roadmap.
- Support cross-functional teams in implementing scalable patterns, reusable components, and well-managed AI assets.
- Take responsibility for data acquisition, transformations, and evaluation metrics for GenAI workflows.
- Deliver high-quality agent logic and performance insights to improve GenAI workflows.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency with big-data tools like Spark and Hadoop and modern data architectures.
- Strong experience in ML models with frameworks like sklearn and how to test and monitor them.
- Experience with GenAI, LLM frameworks like LangChain and methods like Transformers, RLHF, and fine-tuning.
- Strong programming skills, especially in Python, SQL, and at least one additional language.
- Experienced in using visualization/dashboard frameworks from the Python universe like streamlit, plotly, or bookeh.
- Experience deploying GenAI pipelines, including prompt chains, embeddings, retrieval systems, and vector databases, into production environments.
- Familiarity with cloud GenAI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and GCP Vertex AI.
- Experience with analytics or visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Availability for an initial on-site presence in Hanover during the first weeks.
- Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs, including occasional domestic or international travel.

Work Mode
This role offers remote work opportunities. There is an initial on-site presence required in Hanover for the first weeks. Willingness to travel as needed is expected.
