Manulife Financial Corporation / John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.) is looking for a Bilingual CPP Calculation Analyst. You will join the National Life, Disability & Wellness Team, calculating CPP/QPP offsets for disability benefits, managing overpayments, and collaborating with government agencies and internal teams.
What You'll Do
- Calculate and code the CPP/QPP offset and adjusted LTD benefit in Navigator upon approval of CPP/QPP disability or retirement benefits.
- Calculate and code other offsets such as WSIB, rehab earnings, and severance, inputting the adjusted LTD benefit.
- Advise Plan Members of overpayment amounts with clear explanations both verbally and in writing.
- Follow up with Plan Members and/or Service Canada/Retraite Québec for reimbursement and negotiate acceptable repayment plans.
- Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator.
- Review CPP/QPP decline letters and determine if a Plan Member should appeal or reapply.
- Determine if utilizing an external CPP Advocate is warranted.
- Monitor a group email inbox and provide responses on a rotation basis.
- Collaborate with the CPP Senior Disability Administrator and Case Management teams to strengthen financial results.
- Establish good working relationships with Service Canada and Retraite Québec agents.
What We're Looking For
- Fully bilingual (French/English): Required to communicate in both languages to support clients from various jurisdictions outside Quebec.
- Strong customer service focus and ability to be empathetic while delivering difficult messages.
- Strong math skills.
- Very comfortable with Office 365, most notably Excel and Word.
- Able to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Open to change and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience in disability benefit calculations.
- Knowledge of Canada Pension Plan and Quebec Pension Plan legislation.
- A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.
- Experience with Navigator.
