Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior Counsel to independently manage complex litigation and regulatory matters in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment. In this high-impact role, you will shape case strategy, mentor junior legal staff, and deliver top-tier counsel to clients navigating multifaceted challenges.
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of complex legal matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, presenting witnesses, and developing litigation strategy.
- Lead discovery processes, from drafting requests to managing responses and developing witness testimony.
- Make sound legal recommendations grounded in analysis, judgment, and client expectations.
- Engage in negotiations with co-defendants, business adversaries, litigants, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Mentor, supervise, and provide timely feedback to associates and paralegals, fostering growth and quality work output.
- Ensure full compliance with billing procedures and meet minimum billable hour obligations.
- Actively pursue mastery within chosen legal specialties and contribute to broader firm knowledge and excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admitted and in good standing with the bar in all applicable jurisdictions.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in litigation or regulatory law, including trial preparation and appeals.
- Strong command of civil procedure and a deep understanding of core legal principles in relevant practice areas.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated skill in supervising and collaborating with junior attorneys and staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail.
- Committed to continuous personal and professional development and high ethical standards.
