The Senior Commercial Manager, Middle East will play a key role in driving Rondo Energy's expansion in the region by originating and developing Heat Battery projects from initial contact through to definitive agreements. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for key industrial customers, working closely with internal teams and external partners to structure and close turnkey project solutions that decarbonize industrial heat.
What You'll Do
- Develop existing pipeline and originate new prospects
- Own key accounts, driving repeat business and maintaining relationships through construction into operation
- Be the voice of the customer within our organization
- Identify how Heat Batteries create value for stakeholders to develop the project scope and business relationships necessary to deliver turnkey project solutions for industrial facilities
- Work closely with renewable developers, electric utilities, wholesale electricity market parties, EPCs, our application engineering team, and our project finance team to structure projects and iterate on proposed solutions
- Support the development and implementation of processes for project deal development, e.g. project information standards, document tracking, and risk review
- Support the identification of target customer segment markets, market segment value propositions and product roadmap strategy
- Qualify potential customers for product fit; understand the heating load, energy markets, renewables and evaluate ability to transact
- Manage customer relationships, understand customer decision making processes and navigate the path to closed sales
- Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with potential customers and project partners
- Publish at conferences, webinars, trade associations, etc.
- Maintain your contacts and projects in CRM by advancing through deal stages and forecasting project size, close data, etc.
- Prepare customer presentation materials
- Perform some preliminary technical and project financial analysis independently
- Work with the application engineering and project finance teams
- Identify key commercial terms to compose MOU’s, LOI’s, and term sheets to support the path to definitive agreements
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- +5 years experience with industrial sector business development and large capital equipment sales
- Proven track record in lead creation, customer relationship nurturing through execution, and repeat sales - both independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in structuring and negotiating commercial contracts in finding a deal’s solution space that solves for the needs of the customer and the company
- Familiarity with industrial sector energy procurement and energy as-a-service business models
- Deep knowledge of energy sectors in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar
- Fluent in English
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including project financing modeling and cash flow analysis
- Strong PowerPoint skill for creating clear, high-quality professional presentations
- Exceptional written communication skills for preparing techno-economical analyses and documentation in English
Nice to Have
- MBA or Master's degree in the Energy Sector
- Preference for two or all of the following: commercial and Industrial micro-grid and combined heat and power projects, renewable project development including structuring project financing, and/or industrial energy efficiency projects
- Familiarity with energy sectors in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman
- Arabic language skills are highly desirable but not required
- Arabic proficiency is considered an asset
