Motive is looking for a Senior Collections Specialist to manage advanced, day-to-day collections operations with increased autonomy. In this role, you’ll serve as an escalation point for moderately complex cases and contribute to process and tooling improvements within established frameworks.
What You'll Do
- Execute Tier 2 payment processing and Credit application investigations in Zuora, including check/ACH applications and initial payment failure cases, and close the loop with accurate audit trails.
- Manage and resolve a broad range of operational collection cases, such as invoice breakdowns, customized invoicing, payment plan set-ups within guidelines, ACH returns follow-through, and Vendor Finance payments and reconciliations.
- Drive timely, consistent customer outreach (email/phone/portal) for MPF/returns cases and aging follow-up, adhering to team SLAs like a 3-hour email response on assigned cases.
- Analyze portfolio and aging data, identify trends affecting payment success and failures, and share actionable insights with team leads to improve outcomes and recovery speed.
- Contribute to process documentation and SOP refinement, recommending small-scale optimizations that increase operational efficiency and data quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Billing to remove routine blockers and ensure clean invoicing, correct ownership, and timely case resolution.
- Participate in quality reviews and feedback loops, maintaining high standards of communication hygiene, case notes, and compliance considerations.
- Support onboarding and buddy activities for peers by sharing best practices, templates, and system tips when requested by team leads.
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in collections operations, A/R, or a related customer-facing finance role.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment within established frameworks and escalation paths.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret portfolio and aging data and surface standard improvements to process and tooling.
- Collaborative and reliable partner to adjacent teams, consistent with documentation and SOP adherence.
Nice to Have
- SaaS or Quote-to-Cash exposure is advantageous.
- Exposure to Growfin is a plus.
