About the Role
This role involves leading the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise, managing teams, and ensuring solutions meet client and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design of water and wastewater treatment systems
- Manage engineering deliverables across project phases from concept to construction
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for system optimization
- Review technical submissions and ensure compliance with design standards
- Coordinate with environmental, structural, and mechanical engineers
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Support permitting efforts by providing technical documentation
- Conduct site assessments and field investigations
- Oversee construction administration and contractor submittals
- Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and sustainability goals
- Develop cost estimates and construction budgets
- Lead design reviews and risk assessment sessions
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with clients to understand project objectives
- Integrate resilient design practices into infrastructure projects
- Apply industry codes and standards to engineering solutions
- Use CAD and BIM tools for design development
- Troubleshoot design issues during construction
- Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders
- Support project scheduling and milestone tracking
- Promote innovation in water resource management
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols in design and field work
- Work with regulatory agencies on compliance matters
- Contribute to sustainable water infrastructure initiatives
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Experience with large-scale municipal water projects
- Leadership role in design-build or P3 projects
- Certification in stormwater management
- Experience with asset management systems
- Knowledge of green infrastructure practices
