Lead the future of bridge engineering by delivering high-quality structural designs, assessments, and maintenance solutions for critical transportation infrastructure. In this role, you will guide projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical excellence and sustainability across new builds, renewals, and long-term asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review detailed civil and structural design documentation, including 3D BIM models, analysis outputs, calculations, and technical reports.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design, evaluation, and preservation of bridge structures, applying engineering judgment to complex challenges.
- Collaborate with internal specialists and external partners to integrate diverse capabilities and deliver tailored solutions for clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building technical capacity across the organisation.
- Support business growth by identifying opportunities, leading bid submissions, and fostering strong client relationships.
- Stay current with evolving design standards, analytical methods, and industry innovations to maintain technical leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
- Possess professional accreditation (CEng/IEng) with membership in ICE, Engineers Ireland, or IStructE.
- Have hands-on experience with bridge design, assessment, and maintenance, including familiarity with Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW, and rail-specific standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in structural analysis tools such as LUSAS, MIDAS, and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design.
- Show strong project and financial management skills across various contract types, with a record of delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, managing stakeholder expectations efficiently.
