About the Role

This role is central to maintaining efficient billing operations within a busy legal environment. As Senior Billing Assistant, you will oversee the end-to-end billing workflow for the Casualty Practice, ensuring fees are billed promptly and revenue is recognised according to targets. You will work closely with partners and fee earners, providing clear reporting and proactive updates on billing status and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the billing cycle to meet financial goals and improve lock-up performance
  • Prepare clear, accurate month-end reports for partners and support timely billing submissions
  • Lead regular meetings with partners to address billing concerns, track resolutions, and document follow-up actions
  • Produce daily billing summaries and communicate key deadlines to fee earners
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including step-by-step guides
  • Serve as a point of expertise for ebilling platforms, supporting users and troubleshooting issues
  • Train and onboard new team members, ensuring consistent understanding of procedures
  • Escalate complex or unresolved matters to team leadership with clear context and recommendations

What We’re Looking For

You bring proven experience in billing support within a professional services setting, with strong organisational abilities and the confidence to engage at all levels. You are detail-oriented, proactive in identifying process improvements, and skilled in using ebilling systems. Your communication style is clear and professional, whether in writing, reporting, or leading discussions.
