About the Role
Build and maintain high-throughput data pipelines and backend services that enable advanced threat detection by enriching and contextualizing security events at scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable backend services to process and analyze security telemetry
- Design systems that enrich log data with contextual metadata for improved detection accuracy
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for low-latency querying across petabyte-scale datasets
- Collaborate with data engineers to refine ingestion pipelines and schema design
- Implement robust APIs for internal and external consumption of security data
- Ensure system reliability under high-volume data loads
- Contribute to architectural decisions around data modeling and indexing strategies
- Monitor performance metrics and troubleshoot production issues
- Integrate third-party data sources to enhance context for security signals
- Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage
- Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
- Support incident response efforts related to backend system failures
- Document system design and operational procedures
- Work closely with product and security teams to understand use cases
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that improve data processing efficiency
Nice to Have
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar message queuing systems
- Background in cybersecurity or threat detection platforms
- Contributions to open-source data or infrastructure projects
- Prior work with log management or SIEM technologies
- Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience scaling systems to handle terabytes of data daily
- Knowledge of stream processing frameworks
- Understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements
- Track record of mentoring junior engineers
