Scout Clean Energy is hiring a Senior Associate, Resource Assessment

About the Role

This position involves conducting wind and solar resource assessments, managing meteorological data, and contributing to the technical evaluation of renewable energy projects during development phases.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze wind and solar data to determine energy potential at project sites
  • Coordinate installation and maintenance of on-site measurement equipment
  • Process and validate meteorological and environmental data from field sensors
  • Prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project development teams to assess site feasibility
  • Support due diligence for land acquisition and project permitting
  • Evaluate data quality and identify anomalies in measurement systems
  • Work with third-party consultants on resource modeling and forecasting
  • Maintain databases for meteorological tower and remote sensing data
  • Assist in long-term data forecasting and uncertainty analysis
  • Participate in field visits to monitor equipment and collect data
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for data collection
  • Integrate GIS tools to support spatial analysis of project areas
  • Track project timelines related to resource assessment phases
  • Communicate technical findings to non-technical team members
  • Support environmental and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Review contractor deliverables for accuracy and completeness
  • Contribute to energy yield estimates for project financial models
  • Stay current with industry methodologies and measurement technologies
  • Assist in developing internal processes for data management
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and environmental teams
  • Prepare presentations for project stakeholders and leadership
  • Manage multiple projects at various development stages
  • Ensure consistency in data reporting across project portfolios
  • Support the integration of new data sources into existing workflows

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in meteorology, engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience with wind resource assessment for utility-scale projects
  • Proficiency with WAsP, WindPro, or similar modeling tools
  • Certification in meteorological or renewable energy fields
  • Field experience installing or maintaining met towers
  • Knowledge of solar resource modeling software
  • Experience with data acquisition systems from multiple vendors
  • Background in statistical analysis of time-series data
  • Familiarity with power performance testing standards
  • Experience supporting financial modeling with energy estimates
