Camunda is looking for a Senior AP Accountant to join our distributed Finance team. In this role, you will own and strengthen our Accounts Payable operations and key parts of our Travel and Expense process, partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure timely approvals, audit-ready documentation, and a great experience for vendors and internal colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Own and execute end-to-end AP operations across entities, from invoice intake through coding, matching, issue resolution, payment runs, and reconciliations.
- Co-own Travel and Expense operations with the AP team, including compliance enforcement, exception handling, user enablement, and month-end close readiness.
- Maintain vendor master data hygiene and support vendor onboarding and vendor record updates, including independent verification of sensitive changes like banking details.
- Drive Procure-to-Pay process improvements, helping to design, document, and refine workflows that reduce friction, improve data quality, and support scalable growth.
- Prepare and review AP-related month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, aging analysis, and supporting schedules, in close collaboration with the broader Accounting team.
- Improve and document processes and controls in our systems, create clear guidance for stakeholders, and support audit requests with complete evidence.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years hands-on AP experience, including ownership of invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ownership of AP month-end activities in an IFRS reporting environment.
- Strong understanding of P2P processes and internal controls, with the ability to identify gaps, propose practical improvements, and implement changes.
- Strong working knowledge of a modern, cloud-based ERP system and experience with expense management and/or P2P workflow tools.
- Practical experience running or co-running a corporate card and reimbursements process, including policy enforcement, receipt compliance, and exception handling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural team and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a SaaS or high-growth tech company with multiple legal entities and international operations.
- Exposure to process automation and system rollouts in Finance.
- Experience working in a remote-first environment, comfortable with async communication and documenting processes clearly.
