About the Role
The role involves leading animation development for gameplay and narrative sequences, ensuring technical and artistic excellence across all animated content within VR and immersive titles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of character animations for gameplay and story moments
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate animations into game systems
- Ensure animation quality meets performance and artistic standards
- Mentor junior animation team members and provide technical guidance
- Develop and maintain animation pipelines and workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related bugs and technical issues
- Work closely with art and design leads to align animation style with project vision
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling of animation tasks
- Review motion capture data and apply cleanup and enhancements
- Optimize animations for real-time performance in VR environments
- Maintain consistency in character movement and expression across sequences
- Participate in regular playtesting and iteration cycles
- Ensure animations support intuitive player interaction and feedback
- Adapt animation techniques for virtual reality immersion and comfort
- Stay current with industry trends and tools in animation and game development
