About the Role
This position involves managing key aspects of defined benefit pension plan administration, including calculations, regulatory compliance, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.
Responsibilities
- Perform pension benefit calculations for retirements, terminations, and other life events
- Ensure compliance with plan documents, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Support year-end reporting and data reconciliation processes
- Respond to participant inquiries with clear and accurate information
- Collaborate with actuaries and auditors during plan reviews and audits
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pension legislation and industry standards
- Assist in the implementation of system enhancements and process improvements
- Prepare and validate pension disbursement data for processing
- Review and verify member data for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with HR and payroll teams to ensure data consistency
- Manage documentation for pension files and ensure secure recordkeeping
- Support annual pension accounting and funding valuation exercises
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and resolve system issues
- Participate in project work related to pension plan changes or conversions
- Ensure timely processing of direct and indirect benefit payments
- Apply actuarial factors and formulas accurately in benefit determinations
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and pension data
- Assist in the development of training materials for internal teams
- Monitor key performance metrics for pension administration
- Provide support during mergers, acquisitions, or plan amendments
