About the Role
The Senior Accountant will manage key accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance activities while working remotely on a UK shift schedule. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger entries
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Maintain compliance with UK and international accounting standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial issues
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounting workflows
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Track and report on key financial metrics
- Ensure proper revenue recognition in line with accounting guidelines
- Handle accruals, prepayments, and adjustments timely
- Support tax reporting requirements and coordination
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting
- Work closely with finance and operations teams on reporting needs
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from management
- Ensure data integrity across accounting systems
- Stay current with changes in accounting regulations
- Train and support junior accounting staff as needed
- Coordinate with external partners on financial matters
- Maintain organized and auditable financial records
- Contribute to system upgrades and financial tool implementations
