Eight Sleep is looking for a Senior Accountant to be instrumental in ensuring financial integrity, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will join our Finance & Accounting team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment focused on our mission to fuel human potential through optimal sleep.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified.
• Perform monthly sales to cash receipts reconciliation.
• Perform monthly fulfillment information to sales order reconciliation for revenue recognition.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, inventory, and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Support external audits and tax filings by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of internal controls and best practices.
• Prepare cash burn reporting semi-monthly.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other teams to provide financial insights.
• Utilize and optimize ERP and accounting software.
• Support automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with all levels of management.
• Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• CPA certification.
• Experience in a high-growth startup, consumer technology, or e-commerce environment.
• Previous experience in public accounting.
• NetSuite experience.
