About the Role
The Estimator will be responsible for creating detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment. This role involves reviewing project plans, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring that estimates are accurate and competitive.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit bids for construction projects.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor bids.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Provide support during the project execution phase.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress.
- Prepare and present cost reports to management.
- Identify and mitigate potential cost overruns.
- Evaluate and implement cost-saving measures.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Assist in the development of project budgets.
- Coordinate with purchasing and procurement departments.
- Review and approve change orders and additional costs.
- Maintain open communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all estimates are accurate and competitive.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Provide training and guidance to junior estimators.
- Ensure that all estimates comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
