About the Role
The role involves designing comprehensive security systems for a variety of facilities, ensuring alignment with client requirements, codes, and industry standards through detailed engineering documentation and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Design integrated electronic security systems including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection
- Produce system architecture diagrams, equipment layouts, and wiring schematics
- Develop technical specifications and procurement documentation
- Coordinate security designs with architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Perform risk and threat assessments to inform system design
- Conduct site surveys and field verification of existing infrastructure
- Evaluate security technologies and recommend appropriate solutions
- Prepare bills of materials and equipment schedules
- Support project managers with cost estimates and scheduling
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards
- Participate in design review meetings and client presentations
- Revise designs based on feedback from stakeholders
- Oversee integration of security systems with building management platforms
- Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning phases
- Troubleshoot design issues during project execution
- Maintain design documentation in accordance with project standards
- Utilize CAD and BIM tools for design development
- Collaborate with vendors to validate product compatibility
- Stay current with advancements in security system technologies
- Support quality assurance and design validation processes
