Responsibilities
- Carry out groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, litter removal, leaf clearing, and general garden work
- Collaborate with the Stewardship Manager to maintain buildings through cleaning, tree care, painting, and minor repairs
- Ensure tools and equipment remain functional through proper handling and routine upkeep
- Build and maintain respectful, effective relationships with local residents, guests, municipal representatives, local businesses, and internal teams
- Support conservation and maintenance initiatives at various locations as needed, and complete additional tasks assigned by management
- Engage with visitors professionally, warmly, and diplomatically while on site
- Supervise, guide, and acknowledge contributions made by volunteers and interns in the field
Work Arrangement
On-site at Bradley Estate in Canton, MA; Moose Hill Farm in Walpole; Oliver Ames Estate in Easton; and Bird Park in Walpole

- Works outdoors in spring, summer, and fall, with exposure to sun, heat, humidity, and intermittent rain
- Operates in public areas with regular contact from visitors, volunteers, and staff
- Performs duties in both cultivated and wild landscapes, as well as within historic buildings
- Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly and working under all weather conditions
- Required to stand, walk, or sit for extended durations
- Must be able to safely use ladders as part of job responsibilities
- Full-time schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours weekly), with rare evening or weekend assignments
- Candidate must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. by the first day of employment
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per organizational policy required
- Successful completion of a criminal background (CORI) check is mandatory
- Position is seasonal, lasting from April through October
