Responsibilities
- Serve as a representative of the organization in line with established communication guidelines.
- Verify vehicle permits or passes for all incoming traffic at the refuge entrance.
- Report safety issues, incidents, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor promptly.
- Inspect and clean workspaces, parking areas, beach zones, and trail systems regularly.
- Conduct occasional educational tours to promote environmental awareness.
- Handle visitor concerns and complaints in a professional and effective manner.
- Document incidents accurately following organizational policies.
- Assist with organizing and directing vehicle parking as needed.
- Support the coordination and execution of special events on site.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors at the Wauwinet Gatehouse.
- Enforce established refuge regulations and ensure visitor compliance.
- Maintain property conditions by removing litter, repairing fences, maintaining signage, and reporting problems.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain trail systems.
- Clean buildings and structures when required.
- Support shorebird nesting programs through active participation as needed.
- Perform additional assigned tasks, with or without accommodations.
Compensation
$17-$19/hour
