The Trustees of Reservations is hiring a Seasonal Gate Attendant and Ranger

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a representative of the organization in line with established communication guidelines.
  • Verify vehicle permits or passes for all incoming traffic at the refuge entrance.
  • Report safety issues, incidents, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor promptly.
  • Inspect and clean workspaces, parking areas, beach zones, and trail systems regularly.
  • Conduct occasional educational tours to promote environmental awareness.
  • Handle visitor concerns and complaints in a professional and effective manner.
  • Document incidents accurately following organizational policies.
  • Assist with organizing and directing vehicle parking as needed.
  • Support the coordination and execution of special events on site.
  • Provide information and assistance to visitors at the Wauwinet Gatehouse.
  • Enforce established refuge regulations and ensure visitor compliance.
  • Maintain property conditions by removing litter, repairing fences, maintaining signage, and reporting problems.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain trail systems.
  • Clean buildings and structures when required.
  • Support shorebird nesting programs through active participation as needed.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks, with or without accommodations.

Compensation

$17-$19/hour
