Responsibilities
- Operate a 10-passenger van safely along designated routes between Ipswich and nearby towns including Amesbury, Gloucester, and Lawrence.
- Ensure campers board and exit the vehicle safely, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Verify and record attendance accurately before each pickup and drop-off.
- Report delays, absences, or safety issues promptly to Assistant Camp Directors.
- Keep the transportation vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical problems or safety concerns with the vehicle immediately.
- Follow all organizational driving policies, safety procedures, and state regulations at all times.
- For AM shifts: assist with morning transportation and camper arrival before joining camp groups.
- For PM shifts: support afternoon programming before conducting end-of-day transportation.
- Assist in leading nature-based activities such as crafts, games, hikes, and beach visits.
- Help manage camper groups and promote positive behavior and group cohesion.
- Deliver interactive, experiential learning aligned with environmental education goals.
- Respond flexibly to changing needs to ensure camper safety and smooth daily operations.
- Maintain regular communication with camp educators and supervisory staff.
Compensation
$17.00-$19.00/hour (based on experience)
