Directive Consulting is hiring a Search Engine Optimization Strategist for a future opening. In this client-facing role, you'll be responsible for creating custom SEO and content strategies for Enterprise clients, ensuring their execution, and building strong relationships. You'll need a deep understanding of how SEO impacts holistic marketing goals.
What You'll Do
- Create custom SEO strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve NSMs.
- Build and optimize strategies using project phase, client marketing goals, campaigns, and historical performance.
- Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns based on competitor and audience insights.
- Use data from Google Analytics, CRM, SEMRush, and Ahrefs to set and present client goals.
- Ensure strategy execution through project management, delegating tasks in Asana to team members and clients.
- Partner with Project Managers in pods to ensure task completion and communication.
- Work with content writers and designers to complete content campaigns on time and to client standards.
- Build relationships with clients, acting as the main interface and proactively communicating via Slack and meetings.
- Proactively communicate with internal leadership about roadblocks, growth opportunities, and account changes.
- Report to clients bi-weekly on NSM progress and deliverables, monthly, quarterly, and via two bi-annual business reviews.
- Regularly look for opportunities for clients to grow with Directive through upselling, cross-selling, or referrals.
What We're Looking For
- A proven track record of success implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimisation, and link building.
- Analytical insight: ability to analyse website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
- Strong Communication skills: comfortable client facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
- Proven organisational, project, and time management skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO and Content.
- Must have agency experience.
- Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.

Team & Environment
You'll work closely with an Associate Director (AsD) for strategy approval and roadblocks. You'll partner with Project Managers, content writers, and designers, reporting directly to the Associate Director (AsD).
