About the Role

BlueLabs is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to support our client based in The Hague, Netherlands. This is a 100% off-site role, allowing you to work from anywhere within the European Union. You will facilitate agile ceremonies, coach teams on empiricism, and champion agile standards to drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage the backlog and ensure meetings are productive and timeboxed.
  • Coach the team and Product Owner on value-based backlog slicing, incremental delivery, and empiricism.
  • Track and radiate flow metrics like velocity and sprint burndown to guide data-driven improvements.
  • Champion the adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team progress.
  • Promote empowered, self-organizing teams, psychological safety, and collaborative decision-making.
  • Uphold the Definition of Done, quality gates, and organizational compliance standards.
  • Communicate with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners across the organization to ensure transparency.
  • Use team feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support the team in using agile planning tools like Azure DevOps and Confluence.
  • Experiment with new practices and frameworks to improve team outcomes.
  • Participate in learning opportunities such as communities of practice to improve your skills.
  • Contribute to the advancement of agile practices within the organization.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or above.
  • Scrum Master certifications: PSM II (or higher) and SAFe 5/6 Agilist.
  • Experience leading at least 2 production teams through full sprint cycles.
  • Experience implementing data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating cross-team work via Scrum-of-Scrums or PI Planning events.
  • Experience with one or more scaled Agile frameworks like SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS.
  • Experience supporting Agile transformations or change initiatives in medium to large organizations.
  • Tool proficiency in Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira, particularly in backlog management and workflow configuration.
  • Deep knowledge of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto principles.
  • Good knowledge of facilitation techniques like Fist of Five and participatory decision-making.
  • Good knowledge of systems-thinking and process tailoring for complex environments.
  • Good knowledge of team motivation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the EU.
  • Ability to provide a recent certificate of good conduct (no older than 3 months).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a strong asset.
