About the Role
Serve as the senior technical authority and hands-on programmer for complex online surveys, ensuring robust scripting, quality governance, and seamless integration with downstream data processes while guiding team development and in-house capability growth.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead technical subject matter expert for the scripting function, overseeing advanced survey programming including logic, routing, validation, quotas, and user experience.
- Directly develop and program highly complex online surveys using Confirmit, implementing custom logic, advanced routing, validation rules, quality checks, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate emerging survey technologies, AI-driven research tools, and automation possibilities to identify practical improvements in scripting efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical challenges, risks, and quality issues across ad hoc, tracking, Pathfinder, Ignite, syndicated, and other quantitative studies.
- Conduct early technical assessments of complex questionnaires to evaluate scripting feasibility, identify risks, and propose optimized survey design approaches.
- Support the shift from outsourced to blended/in-house delivery by analyzing scripting complexity, identifying readiness gaps, flagging resourcing or capability risks, and documenting lessons learned.
- Design and implement a structured upskilling program for the scripting team, focusing on advanced programming needs such as conjoint analysis, segmentation, trackers, and syndicated studies.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and quality feedback to scripting managers and executives, with potential line management responsibilities as the team expands.
- Collaborate closely with Research, Project Management, Data Processing, Dashboarding, and Analytics teams to ensure scripting designs enable accurate data flow and downstream reporting.
- Advise internal stakeholders on best practices, technical feasibility, risks, and solutions, clearly communicating technical aspects to non-technical audiences.
