Role OverviewThe SC Commercial Lead is responsible for advancing supply chain performance within Shell’s LNG business in Trinidad and Tobago. This position ensures that contracting and procurement activities directly support upstream production goals while maintaining the highest standards in health, safety, sustainability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans for high-impact contracts, integrating HSSE and compliance principles from initiation through contract fulfillment.
- Apply market intelligence and commercial analysis to shape sourcing strategies that enhance value, reduce costs, and support long-term business transformation.
- Collaborate with Upstream Operations and technical functions to align contracting approaches with production needs and operational realities.
- Design and manage competitive procurement processes, using structured negotiation techniques and value-based methodologies to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Strengthen supplier relationships through performance monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and lifecycle management.
- Integrate global best practices by working with enterprise supply chain teams and leveraging centralized expertise in category management.
- Embed commitments to diversity, local content, and social performance into sourcing decisions and contractual frameworks.
- Ensure full alignment with corporate ethics, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements across all procurement activities.
- Drive automation, digitalization, and process simplification to improve efficiency and contract coverage.
- Support capability development within the supply chain team, fostering a culture of commercial rigor and end-to-end ownership.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility to work full-time in Trinidad & Tobago without restriction.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience in supply chain and contracting.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in supply chain roles with a focus on upstream or operational procurement, contract management, and supplier engagement.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex commercial agreements and delivering measurable value.
- Proven ability to work effectively across technical and commercial functions in a matrix environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Track record of applying market insights to improve sourcing strategies and drive cost efficiency.
- Commitment to HSSE, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership or certification with MCIPS is considered an advantage.
