Sally Beauty Holdings, LLC is hiring a Salon Outside Sales Representative (Salon Business Consultant) to grow a territory by helping salon customers increase their overall sales. This sales solution specialist will meet goals through manufacturer education, opening new accounts, selling beauty products, and using social media to serve licensed beauty professionals.
What You'll Do
- Identify key accounts and establish efficient routes to grow existing customers and find new partnerships.
- Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking in-salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
- Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
- Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication within 24 hours.
- Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon.
- Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.
- Process returns including pick-up from customers and completing required documents.
- Work with customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other business functions.
- Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
- Manage administrative aspects including daily order entry and maintenance of customer information in salesforce.com.
- Attract and retain salon clientele by utilizing social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.
- Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes.
- Communicate with Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow-up plans, and assistance needed.
- Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms & social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers.
- Attend all meetings, functions, and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
- Attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, handle back stock, and perform other required physical activities.
- Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset and positively foster change management throughout the team.
- Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships.
- Allocate time to participate in learning using all available tools and resources.
- Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge to react to a competitive market.
- Actively work to increase own product, industry, and market knowledge.
- Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 1 year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
- Must live within the assigned territory (Rapid City, Lead, Deadwood South Dakota area).
- Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines and business.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle.
- Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and internet tools.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
- Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs.
- Strong time management and organization skills and ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising.
- Experience with iPad.
