The Salesforce QA Engineer ensures high-quality delivery of Salesforce platforms by executing thorough testing across standard and custom applications. This role involves deep knowledge of Salesforce ecosystems, automation frameworks, and integration points to validate functionality, data accuracy, and system readiness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test strategies, test cases, and test scripts for Salesforce modules including Sales, Service, Experience, Revenue Cloud, and custom-built applications.
- Establish test environment and test data needs in coordination with development teams to support testing cycles.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for Salesforce deployments.
- Create, automate, and run regression test suites to maximize test coverage and efficiency.
- Verify data consistency and integrity across Salesforce objects and integrated systems.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and detect issues early in the development cycle.
- Perform sanity checks to confirm system stability before production release.
- Log and monitor defects using Jira or comparable tools, ensuring timely resolution and traceability.
- Engage in Agile rituals and support ongoing improvements in quality assurance practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in functional and automated testing of Salesforce applications.
- Proven ability to develop test plans and write detailed test cases.
- Solid understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and customization capabilities.
- Direct experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Provar, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of API testing for REST and SOAP services and validation of system integrations.
- Experience conducting load and performance testing on enterprise applications.
- Strong familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
- Practical use of Jira and similar issue-tracking tools in QA workflows.
- Prior experience in client-facing roles managing stakeholder communication.
Nice to Have
- Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator certification.
- Background as a Business Analyst in Salesforce environments.
- Experience building or using test automation frameworks for Salesforce with tools like Selenium, Provar, or TestNG.
