Heartland is hiring a Sales Representative to sell our payroll and Human Capital Management (HCM) merchant services to businesses. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, identifying revenue opportunities, and driving leads from prospecting to close. This role involves primarily field sales within your assigned territory.
What You'll Do
- Manage a portfolio of clients for Heartland.
- Identify revenue opportunities and prospective clients within assigned territories through face-to-face meetings, telephone communications, marketing programs, and other activities.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects to identify contacts, qualify leads, and drive them through the sales pipeline.
- Ensure suspect identification, planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at all prospect levels.
- Respond to customer requests for information and give online presentations.
- Identify and close additional product and/or service sales with existing clients to further develop the client relationship.
- Manage client relationships and expectations during the sales cycle.
- Maintain existing and prospective client records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
- Continuously build and develop knowledge of the current product/service portfolio and changes within the payments industry.
What We're Looking For
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
- Completion of mandatory drug screening on or near the 60th day of employment.
- Must live in an area relative to the job posting location.
Nice to Have
- Typically 2+ years of relevant experience.
- B2B sales experience.
- Cold calling sales experience.
- Demonstrated successful performance in a previous sales role.
