Avantor Sciences is looking for a Sales Representative in New York City to maintain relationships and drive business growth within an assigned territory. As part of a global team of 14,000+ associates advancing life-changing science, your work will directly impact bringing new patient treatments and therapies to market.
What You'll Do
- Maintain relationships by visiting customer sites within your NYC territory.
- Sell products and services, acting as the primary point of contact post-sale.
- Engage with customers via phone, chat, email, and video to close sales and provide support.
- Respond to client inquiries and offer guidance on appropriate products and services.
- Execute sales strategy, generate reports, and identify opportunities to increase volume.
- Build trust and strong relationships to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
- Meet or exceed sales and margin targets.
- Develop awareness and sales of the VWR Private Label range to increase margin.
- Demonstrate strategic agility by tailoring solutions to individual customer needs.
- Implement agreed strategies across defined accounts while developing existing business.
- Manage your territory to maximize customer visits and drive new opportunities.
- Call customers frequently to create selling opportunities for the VWR portfolio.
- Understand customer profiles to identify trends and generate sales.
- Utilize local and global contacts to help achieve targets.
- Use the VWR CRM database to manage customer relationships and interactions.
- Plan, forecast, and achieve objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BSc or equivalent degree is essential.
- 3+ years of experience in a complex sales environment with multiple client decision-makers and a solution-based selling approach.
- 1 year of leadership experience.
- Proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategic approach.
- Experience in a fast-paced, targeted environment with high team interaction with customers, manufacturers, and colleagues.
- Business-to-business sales experience.
- Demonstrated capability to use best-in-class selling processes and technology platforms including CRM Tools.
- Mandatory attendance of appropriate VWR Sales Trainings.
- Good understanding of company products, promotions, services, and solutions.
- In-depth understanding of relationship types and buyer behaviors.
- Broad understanding of the VWR Product & Service portfolio.
- In-depth understanding of different VWR functions and their roles.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
Nice to Have
- Preference may be given to candidates with distribution experience and a scientific background or experience working in a laboratory or research environment.
- Proficiency in 1 or 2 additional languages is preferred.
