About the Role

Sentinel Offender Services is hiring a Sales Executive to oversee our Northeast Region, encompassing West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. In this role, you will drive business growth by prospecting, presenting, and closing sales opportunities within the local corrections market to meet or exceed revenue targets.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement sales growth strategies within your assigned region to meet new revenue targets.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals.
  • Create and maintain strategic account plans for each sales prospect.
  • Focus on local Judiciary, County/City Corrections Departments, and local governing authorities to determine program offerings.
  • Manage and develop your designated region to maximize sales and profits by establishing local relationships leading to new contracts.
  • Report account satisfaction issues to the Field Operations Team for resolution.
  • Update weekly reports on all existing account activity and keep the organization informed of status changes.
  • Provide specialized product knowledge and conduct field demonstrations and presentations.
  • Achieve the annual and quarterly sales volume quota assigned to the region.
  • Interact and communicate with all customers, staff, and company management.
  • Investigate all avenues for new revenue growth, including existing accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Accurately promote Sentinel services according to a regionally competitive, approved pricing strategy.
  • Stay within assigned travel, entertainment, and telephone budgets.
  • Maintain regular communication with the VP of Sales, providing daily, weekly, and monthly activity updates.
  • Support marketing efforts by attending and assisting at local trade shows.
  • Complete and submit monthly sales forecasts, expense reports, absence reports, and travel itineraries.
  • Ensure all company activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain industry and product knowledge and inform the company of changing market conditions.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, bidders’ conferences, and public hearings as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of sales experience.
  • Formalized sales training.
  • Proven track record of generating new sales contracts that result in profitable returns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent listening skills.
  • Proficient with the Salesforce CRM platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey a strong value proposition and seek 'win-win' outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement, including the RFP and bid process.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Team player who aligns team goals with activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must reside within the assigned Northeast Region.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice or public safety industry.

Team & Environment

You will follow direction set by the Vice President of Sales, to whom you will directly report.

Work Mode

This position covers a local territory. You must reside and work within the assigned region of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
