Drive technical sales and customer success across the Asia Pacific region in a role that bridges deep technical knowledge with strategic client engagement. You'll work hand-in-hand with sales teams and enterprise clients to identify data infrastructure needs, design effective solutions, and guide deals to successful closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with enterprise customers, partners, and senior technical stakeholders to understand challenges and align solutions
  • Apply advanced expertise in database systems to lead proof-of-concept projects and technical evaluations
  • Collaborate with global sales teams to prioritize opportunities and allocate technical resources effectively
  • Design and draft statements of work in coordination with internal technical experts
  • Support the creation of presentations, technical workflows, white papers, and responses to formal procurement requests
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences as needed
  • Travel regionally up to 40% of the time to support sales initiatives and customer engagements

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should bring 8–10 years of experience as a Senior Sales Engineer with a strong foundation in database technologies and enterprise IT environments.

  • Proven experience with MariaDB, MySQL, or comparable database platforms such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity with in-memory computing solutions like Redis or Apache Ignite is a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, Java, and open-source ecosystems
  • Experience managing complex technical sales cycles and customer proof-of-concept deployments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to executive audiences
  • Fluency in English is required; additional regional languages are a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position based in Malaysia, with up to 40% regional travel required. The ideal candidate is self-organized, technically precise, and comfortable working independently while contributing to a global team. A valid passport is necessary for travel.
