The Sales Engineer Analyst supports the Direct to Merchant Sales team by bridging technical expertise with commercial insight to advance merchant onboarding and solution adoption. This role requires a deep understanding of payment technologies, including Visa Acceptance Solutions, CyberSource, and Authorize.net, to effectively assess merchant needs and propose integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and present technical architectures that align with merchant business and integration requirements
- Lead technical discovery sessions and deliver customized demonstrations, including proof of value implementations using AI and NLP tools
- Execute API testing in Postman and simulate Webhook events using local or external listeners to validate integration workflows
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities while supporting RFI/RFP processes
- Document all customer interactions, technical designs, and follow-ups in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SharePoint
- Facilitate internal knowledge sharing, conduct dry-runs, and prepare client-facing materials based on prior engagements
- Work closely with Product Management, Solution Engineering, and Implementation teams to inform product development and improve technical onboarding
- Stay current with emerging technologies and apply AI-driven tools to enhance productivity and innovation in sales engineering workflows
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher, with at least two years of relevant experience. A technical background in computer science or a related field is strongly preferred. Experience in pre-sales engineering within the payments industry is a significant advantage.
Essential competencies include the ability to explain complex systems clearly, design integration solutions, and maintain precise documentation. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and self-driven learning are critical. Familiarity with REST APIs, Postman, Webhooks, and CRM platforms is required. Some travel may be necessary.
