The Sales Engineer bridges technical expertise and sales acumen to drive customer success by demonstrating product value, designing solutions, and supporting the sales cycle from discovery to close.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sales team to help clients understand the full capabilities of the platform.
- Assess customer requirements and communicate how technical challenges can be addressed using SaaS solutions.
- Design and deliver persuasive proof-of-concepts to showcase product value.
- Coordinate with Services, Operations, Engineering, and Product teams to support successful customer implementations.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or similar roles.
- Background in customer-facing positions such as Services, Support, or Customer Success.
- Ability to quickly diagram solutions and present them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Use knowledge of authentication protocols like SAML, WS-Federation, and OIDC to build customized solutions.
- Apply understanding of government and industry regulations such as ITAR, NIST 800-171, and CMMC to ensure secure vendor collaboration.
- Demonstrate knowledge of key security practices in applications and SaaS environments, including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
- Provide writing samples and demonstration examples during the hiring process.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or at least five years of experience in Sales Engineering or a comparable technical customer-facing role.
- Proven ability to work well in a team with a strong focus on customer success.
- Highly detail-oriented with adaptability and a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Skilled in producing technical documentation and performing detailed analysis.
- Experience designing product demos and managing Proof of Concept projects.
- Familiarity with SaaS and cloud-based service models.
- Collaborative approach with enthusiasm for solving problems creatively.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward challenges and opportunities.
