Role Overview
As a Sales Engineer, you'll play a central technical role in advancing enterprise sales by collaborating closely with Business Development teams. You’ll provide in-depth expertise on the platform’s capabilities, support solution scoping, and lead technical discussions with enterprise clients throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact during sales engagements, delivering clear, accurate responses to technical inquiries and demonstrating platform value to engineering and executive stakeholders.
- Guide clients through pre-sales implementation planning, helping them visualize integration paths and define technical requirements before contract finalization.
- Lead the creation of technical deliverables including RFPs, RFI responses, and solution proposals, ensuring alignment with client architecture and business goals.
- Design integration strategies that connect the platform with the client’s existing systems and third-party partners, using REST APIs and webhook-driven workflows.
- Coordinate internal resources to maintain momentum in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, functioning as a project lead to keep timelines on track.
- Ensure a smooth transition to post-sales teams by documenting technical decisions, client requirements, and integration plans for onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of seven years in technical sales engineering roles within enterprise SaaS, fintech, or payments environments.
- Proven success in closing high-value, technically complex deals involving developer-facing platforms.
- Strong technical fluency with API-first systems, webhooks, and distributed architectures; ability to troubleshoot alongside client developers.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of shifting seamlessly between strategic business discussions and detailed technical implementation.
- Project leadership mindset—able to organize cross-functional efforts and drive technical outcomes across long sales cycles.
- Experience managing RFP processes and leading pilot engagements to successful closure.
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth settings while maintaining precision and client focus.
- Skilled at balancing a broad pipeline with personalized, high-touch support for strategic partners.
- Approaches client challenges with a problem-solving mindset, designing tailored solutions using platform capabilities and partner ecosystems.
Preferred Background
- Familiarity with Web3 technologies, including stablecoins, smart contracts, and on/off-ramp infrastructure.
- Knowledge of global payment rails such as ACH, SWIFT, and SEPA, or experience with card issuing platforms.
- Background in technical program or product management, translating client needs into engineering priorities.
- Hands-on software development experience or formal computer science training.
- Experience helping build sales engineering functions or technical playbooks in early-stage companies.
Work Environment
