About the Role

Canada Life is looking for a Sales Director, Group Benefits (Western Market) to lead a high-performing team focused on growing our consultant and large case direct group benefits business. In this role, you will be instrumental in achieving our business objectives while upholding our shared purpose to improve the financial, physical and mental well-being of Canadians.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and drive the performance of a team of Account Executives.
  • Work closely with Account Executives on day-to-day concerns and escalated issues.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with business partners, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with regional service counterparts to ensure customer needs are exceeded.
  • Achieve business objectives and execute quarterly regional business plans.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with consultants and customers to achieve annual sales and persistency targets.
  • Manage the sales process from request for proposal to finalist presentation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through the new business implementation process and ongoing account management.
  • Promote additional products and services to enhance client retention.
  • Maintain a small caseload of large or complex clients to support their unique sales needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years of sales experience in the Canadian Group Insurance market, ideally in a leadership capacity.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Ability to understand the business environment and customer needs to create competitive advantage.
  • Proven ability to create alignment to drive sales results and ensure client retention.
  • Experience deploying resources effectively to meet customer needs and balance workloads.
  • Skill in building partnerships to seek cross-selling opportunities.
  • A commitment to contributing to the development of new products and services.
  • Ability to foster an environment of innovation and openness to others' perspectives.
  • Highly effective sales skills and business knowledge.
  • An approach that employs regular measurement against aggressive, multi-faceted KPIs.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Strategic foresight to anticipate future trends and act on opportunities.
  • A commitment to personal development and improvement.
  • Willingness to positively promote the company's purpose through community and industry engagement.
  • Ability to act as a change agent and adopt a client-centric approach.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle.

Team & Environment

You will lead a team of Account Executives and report directly to the Vice President, National Accounts Sales. At Canada Life, we are united by our shared purpose, and we step up, do the right thing, and deliver for our customers, communities, and each other.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual base salary range: $111,400 - $161,400.

Work Mode

This is a local-country position supporting the Western Market.
