About the Role

Lighthouse Software Group, an operating group of Valsoft, is looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our sales team in Canada. In this remote role, you will qualify inbound leads, source outbound prospects, and re-engage existing contacts to generate meetings and sales opportunities.

What You'll Do

  • Research and identify potential clients within government sectors at Federal, Provincial/State, and Municipal levels across North America.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through market research, cold outreach, and email campaigns.
  • Initiate contact with prospects, assess their needs, and schedule introductory meetings.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute targeted strategies to convert leads into customers.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and procurement practices relevant to vertical market software.
  • Share customer feedback and market insights with the product team to inform development.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client interactions in the CRM system.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of sales experience.
  • A track record of exceeding targets.
  • A solid grasp of the sales cycle.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in software sales, particularly within government or regulated industries.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong skills in research and lead generation.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales enablement tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working within public procurement.
