The Safety Specialist works on the front lines of safety and compliance, supporting the Safety and Compliance Manager through active field presence and incident response. This role ensures that safety protocols are consistently followed and reinforced across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to workplace incidents by evaluating scenes, collecting evidence, reviewing camera footage, and guiding accurate reporting procedures
- Prepare detailed After-Action Reports that include incident classification, root-cause findings, and recommended corrective actions
- Act as the initial contact for injured employees, coordinating medical attention and initiating documentation promptly
- Develop and deliver required OSHA safety training sessions on a monthly and annual basis, tailored to current safety trends
- Engage daily in field operations to promote safe behaviors and provide real-time coaching to drivers and crew
- Conduct monthly inspections of facilities, covering structural safety, equipment condition, and environmental compliance including storm water and regulatory checks
- Assess safety risks by reviewing procedures, tools, and work practices through site visits and digital monitoring, then implement corrective measures
- Run monthly DMV checks to verify fleet registration and inspection compliance, forwarding records to administrative teams
- Support new employee onboarding with hands-on safety orientation in coordination with training staff
- Provide backup assistance to team members and perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
Applicants should have 2–5 years of experience in safety compliance, field safety, or a regulatory-focused role. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web-based platforms is required. Experience with onboard camera systems and safety documentation tools is essential. Bilingual ability is a strong asset.
