About the Role

This role involves collecting blood samples through venipuncture and microtainer techniques with accuracy and care. The Phlebotomist ensures all specimens are correctly labeled and processed according to protocol, prioritizing urgent requests while managing routine orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections with attention to patient comfort and safety
  • Transport hazardous materials following established safety guidelines
  • Accurately receive, label, and process laboratory specimens
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including proper use of PPE and hand hygiene
  • Support daily workflow by coordinating task assignments and assisting team members
  • Respond to service issues promptly and professionally
  • Complete required training for hazardous waste handling and safety compliance
  • Operate laboratory equipment and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must be proficient in English and demonstrate strong organizational abilities. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential, along with flexibility to support shifts on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred qualifications include completion of a phlebotomy training program, certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT-ASCP), and current CPR certification. Experience with laboratory analyzers and basic computer literacy are also valued.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position with a flexible schedule to meet operational needs. The setting uses advanced diagnostic tools including hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank analyzers, along with standard medical and office equipment.
