Position Overview
As a Public Safety Officer I, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure, orderly, and respectful environment at a private resort community in Beaver Creek, Colorado. This full-time, year-round position ensures the safety and comfort of property owners, guests, and staff through consistent presence, vigilant observation, and reliable response to incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver courteous and professional guest service at entry points and private residences
- Monitor and manage access at main and remote gates using computerized and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to fire, security, and medical alarms, following established protocols
- Patrol the community on foot or by vehicle, inspecting structures, roads, and common areas for safety concerns
- Enforce community rules and issue violation notices for parking or covenant infractions
- Document incidents, guest interactions, and daily activities with clarity and accuracy
- Assist with traffic flow and parking organization in high-traffic zones, including the Skier Lot
- Provide information and support to residents, visitors, and contractors
- Resolve conflicts calmly and professionally, using sound judgment and nonconfrontational techniques
- Operate emergency equipment, including bear deterrent systems, and perform vehicle assistance services
- Perform snow removal, equipment maintenance, and light facility upkeep as needed
- Coordinate with internal departments to address issues and improve community operations
- Handle key storage, package distribution, and equipment requiring lifting up to 50 pounds
- Maintain proficiency with alarm panels, Microsoft Office, and communication tools
Qualifications
- Must be able to work 10-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Capable of standing outdoors for extended periods in cold weather
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain alert and responsive during all shifts
- Proficiency in using personal protective gear and safety equipment
- Current or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Familiarity with alarm systems, gate operations, and basic mechanical systems
- Experience in security, safety, or guest service roles is beneficial
Work Environment
This is an onsite position located in Beaver Creek, CO. Officers must be prepared for variable weather conditions and physical tasks, including walking long distances, lifting, and operating vehicles and technical systems.
