Responsibilities
- Design and manage the core SaaS financial measurement systems, including annual recurring revenue trends, cohort-based retention analysis, revenue recognition timelines, deferred revenue tracking, and unit-level profitability segmented by business line.
- Align Salesforce booking records with QuickBooks revenue postings to maintain a consistent and accurate financial data foundation across platforms.
- Prepare recurring monthly and quarterly financial summaries and revenue reports for executive review, including performance comparisons to forecasted plans.
- Develop financial models to evaluate potential business decisions such as pricing adjustments, product package configurations, market expansion, and staffing investments.
- Track sales pipeline quality and convert pipeline data into reliable revenue projections with clearly stated assumptions.
- Ensure data consistency between customer relationship management and accounting platforms, proactively identifying and resolving data mismatches.
- Provide accurate and auditable financial metrics for board meetings and investor communications.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, revenue operations, or financial planning and analysis within a B2B SaaS environment.
- Advanced understanding of Salesforce data architecture, including opportunity records, product schedules, contract details, and reporting structures.
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online, covering chart of accounts setup, revenue classification, journal entries, and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 standards and practical application to revenue recognition for SaaS businesses with annual and multi-year contracts.
- Ability to create financial models independently in Excel or Google Sheets using logical frameworks rather than templates.
- Cohort-based analytical mindset, focusing on customer behavior over time rather than aggregate totals.
- Clear understanding of the distinctions between bookings, billings, and revenue, with the ability to articulate their individual significance.
- High attention to detail, critical evaluation of financial outputs, and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
Nice to Have
- Background working in a company that generates both subscription revenue and professional services income.
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ or native Salesforce quoting and contract management features.
- Prior exposure to preparing reports for investors or board presentations in a high-growth company.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms like Marketo or HubSpot for customer acquisition cost and marketing attribution analysis.
