About the Role
The developer will design, implement, and optimize backend systems and APIs using Ruby on Rails, contributing to core product features and infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Ruby on Rails
- Write clean, testable, and efficient code
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Design and manage database schemas and queries
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews and team planning sessions
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Support deployment pipelines and monitoring tools
- Refactor legacy systems for improved maintainability
- Integrate third-party services and APIs
- Ensure application reliability through automated testing
- Optimize application response times and scalability
- Work with product managers to define feature requirements
- Maintain documentation for code and systems
- Respond to production incidents and support requests
- Stay current with evolving Ruby and Rails best practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning
- Use version control systems effectively
- Monitor application health and logs
- Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Improve development workflows and tooling

- Mentor junior developers when needed
