Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery unit at West Penn Hospital. In this role, you will assess human responses and be fully responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for your patients. You are accountable for the quality of care delivered and will work within a collaborative, professional practice setting.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership in a professional practice setting and contribute to building the team through role modeling and mentoring.
- Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill level, including performing charge nurse duties.
- Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts.
- Supervise, delegate, and evaluate the assigned scope of practice for LPNs as appropriate.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement individualized patient plans of care.
- Analyze patient health status, report changes of condition, notify physicians, and document accordingly.
- Accept assignments in areas outside your primary unit and perform duties within your competency.
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning for yourself and others, and seek activities to maintain clinical skills.
- Participate in systematic peer review and seek feedback on your own practice.
- Continuously evaluate patient and family satisfaction, assess for concerns, and utilize effective time management.
What We're Looking For
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current State of Pennsylvania RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- CPR certification
