Allegheny Health Network is hiring a RN Lactation Consultant (Part Time) at West Penn Hospital. In this role, you will provide expert care in lactation management according to international standards, serving as a key consultant to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare workers for complex breastfeeding cases.
What You'll Do
- Practice autonomously to provide expert lactation care and clinical management for inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding dyads.
- Provide education and consultation to patients and health care team members using evidence-based practice standards.
- Assist with daily operations of the retail lactation center and monitor breastfeeding equipment within the hospital.
- Participate in marketing activities related to Lactation Services.
- Contribute to the achievement of divisional and organizational goals.
- May contribute to the development and presentation of lactation programs and policies based on facility requirements.
What We're Looking For
- PA RN licensure
- International Board Certification as Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- CPR – American Heart Association certification
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Nice to Have
- BA/BS Degree
- 3 years experience in clinical obstetrics and/or birthing center
- Previous experience as an IBCLC

This position requires you to work onsite at West Penn Hospital.
