Role Overview
We’re looking for a Risk & Payments Operations Specialist to support secure, scalable operations as we expand our small business capital offerings. In this role, you’ll ensure payment integrity, manage risk exposure, and enhance operational efficiency through process improvements and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement operational strategies to assess and address complex risk scenarios in real time
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, evaluating both internal development and third-party solutions
- Conduct in-depth risk assessments for high-impact merchant accounts
- Resolve payment disruptions promptly through direct communication with merchants via email and phone
- Collaborate with customer support, data science, compliance, and engineering teams to improve service delivery and increase capital deployment
- Continuously evaluate existing processes and recommend enhancements to strengthen product operations
- Partner with external stakeholders to detect and investigate potential fraud
- Analyze performance data to uncover optimization opportunities and support growth initiatives
Qualifications
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of professional experience, including 2 to 3 years in operations within fintech, banking, or payments. A solid grasp of payment systems, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential. You should thrive in fast-moving, entrepreneurial settings where initiative and problem-solving drive results.
Preferred Background
- Experience in fraud detection or risk analysis
- Familiarity with or interest in capital advance or lending products
- Proficiency in or eagerness to learn data analysis tools such as SQL, R, or Python
Work Environment

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $118,000 to $123,000, accompanied by an equity grant.
