About the Role

The Risk Manager plays a central role in identifying, evaluating, and responding to clinical and operational incidents. This position leads investigations, analyzes records, and conducts interviews to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. You will manage the incident reporting system, track trends, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the investigation of adverse events, near misses, and safety concerns
  • Oversee documentation, evidence collection, and disclosure processes
  • Analyze risk data to identify patterns and systemic vulnerabilities
  • Develop and implement annual risk management strategies
  • Support department leaders in building risk-aware policies and procedures
  • Conduct root cause analyses and failure mode assessments
  • Collaborate with legal, quality, and patient safety teams to align objectives
  • Identify potential claims and initiate early intervention protocols
  • Provide guidance during unanticipated outcomes and patient concerns
  • Deliver education on risk mitigation and safety best practices
  • Participate in safety rounds, risk assessments, and improvement projects
  • Report device-related incidents per federal regulations
  • Advise leadership and clinical staff on risk reduction strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Clinical or professional certification (e.g., RN, Pharmacist) required
  • Minimum of five years of direct clinical experience
  • At least three years in risk management, patient safety, or quality improvement
  • Master’s degree or advanced credential preferred
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • CPHRM certification expected within 18 months of hire
