NetApp is hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Technical Revenue Accounting Team. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with ASC 606, and strong SOX controls. Your work will involve analyzing complex contracts, performing monthly close processes, and providing technical guidance.
What You'll Do
- Apply expert knowledge of ASC 606 to analyze complex revenue contracts and transactions.
- Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including preparation of schedules, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Collaborate with finance to develop and maintain revenue recognition policies aligned with accounting standards.
- Research and provide technical accounting guidance for new products.
- Perform independent technical accounting research and document conclusions.
- Collaborate with internal audit to ensure SOX control compliance and support testing.
- Conduct regular reviews of revenue contracts, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Perform revenue forecasting and variance analysis, providing insights to management.
- Assist with external audits and act as a point of contact for revenue-related auditor inquiries.
- Assist with revenue analysis and journal entries for Enterprise License Agreements (ELAs).
- Perform data analytics on month-over-month changes and fluctuations between actuals and forecast.
- Post manual revenue and deferred entries and reconcile general ledger balances.
- Ensure system-posted revenue reflects the expected revenue position.
- Be responsible for external and internal audit queries.
- Work to prepare disclosure requirements for the reporting team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Located in the Raleigh-Durham area of the United States to support the hybrid work environment.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in revenue accounting, with a strong emphasis on ASC 606.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Proven experience in revenue recognition for complex contracts, preferably in technology or software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contractual terms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Oracle and RevPro systems is a plus.
